You should know from the get-go that I never meant to be a photographer. 

In fact, I picked up a camera when I was 22 because I honestly didn't know what else to do. Before that, I had pursued a career in nursing, got my BSN, took the licensing exam to become a nurse and failed, not once, but twice. I could talk for hours about how this wrecked me and remade me, but I'll leave it at this:  

I do this work because of Him and because of you. It was in His kindness that he allowed my plan to fail and gave me photography instead. You remind me of His goodness. His faithfulness. His ability to make a way when I don't see how it's possible. You remind me of His provision and His heart for his children. That He's for me and he's for you, too. That at the end of it all, through every failure and gift,  it's Him I get. I get to know him. I get to call him my King and my friend. 

So thanks for being here on my little corner of the world. It means more than you know.

I married my high school sweetheart, Luke, when we were 20 years old. Luke bElieves the best in everyone he meets, is undyingly optimistic, and Prefers savory over sweet. He gets jobs he doesn't even interview for, can carry a conversation with a brick wall, and deeply gets how to live from a place of joy found in jesus.  He's my greatest gift. 

I was involved in youth ministry for 6 years leading high school girls and next to marriage & motherhood, it's the most soul-shaping thing I've ever done. It's Also where the lord made it known that high school girls are the people I wanna serve most, which is why senior photography is my main gig.

Together luke and I have 3 babies.  We adore them. they have changed our HEARTS and our Life is TEN times harder and a million times better because they're in it.

About 2 years ago, I started noticing how much my kids see me with my phone. Even if I just had it around to take photos of them, I didn't want each of their memories to have me, phone in hand. So I started documenting our ordinary life with disposable cameras and it allowed me to stay present and not overthink the shot. There's something wildly sacred about moments caught on film.

I'm forever in awe of the complexity of their souls and the refining process of motherhood. I'm nostalgic for now and I know these are the days I'm gonna look back on and say, "look how much we grew - you and me both."

With having newborns and the pandemic, Luke + I have quickly fallen in love with dating at home. Sometimes you need to get out of the house for something special, but there is something sweet to finding beauty in what you have and where you are. Luke makes our drinks, I make a little cheeseboard and we head outside to our back deck.
