I promised I would never photograph seniors when I first started shooting. The thought of posing only one person with cheesy props wasn't for me. Little did I know that high school seniors would honestly become my favorite people to photograph.
I’ve spent the past year deconstructing the way I do things and reviving my senior process. I’ve solidified my mission and it’s simply this: I want high school seniors to know unshakably that they’ve been made on purpose with beauty and value and they have a place here. I genuinely believe they have what it takes to infuse kindness and healing back into this world. And I wanna be a part of reminding them of that beauty and value already in them so they can turn around and call it out of others.
I’m just picturing a generation of girls who know their worth and unique value and are quick to point it out in each other. Who turn to their friend and say, “you have a place here. If you just want your senior photos to get over with quickly and you want standard pictures of you leaning against a fence, I'm not for you. This is not a one-size-fits-all, copy and paste senior photo generator. I believe senior photos should be more than that. I want this to be an experience where you feel known and celebrated uniquely. I've created a customized process that allows me to get to know you so that we can work together to define and draw out your true personality and preferences to create a session together that is specific to you. I believe getting to know you is essential to photographing you completely and accurately and beautifully.

You are rare and special. Your photos should reflect that. I think the smiling, posed photos are super important and I also believe candid, real, creative images are too. Movement + genuine emotion are something I strive to bring to each image.

I know, I know. Everything's digital, can be googled, instantly downloaded. We have access to more and can get it quicker than ever before. For me, printing photos is one way to slow down time, to relive a moment. It invites you in to be a part of something once lost that forces you to remember exactly how it looked and exactly how it felt. You'll want these in print one day, I promise. You're officially a SHP Senior once you've signed the contract, paid your deposit, and we have a date set on the calendar.
You'll receive a guide that will help us tailor your session just for you! The guide includes questions and tips that will help me get a feel for who you are and what you like. We'll chat on the phone so I can get to know you even more and from there I'll create a customized plan for your session. By the end of the process, we'll know exactly what you're wearing and where we're taking photos.
Today's the day! After you choose your outfits and I've scouted out some perfect locations that reflect you, we'll hang out and I'll have my camera in hand to capture it all.
2-3 weeks after your session you'll receive an invite via email to your personalized gallery filled with photos!
Albums and prints are the perfect way to display your senior photos and help you remember this time of life forever. If you want to go one step further and order an album or prints, you'll pick the photos (or I can too) and I'll arrange them in a beautiful design. Each album is customized to you with your name and class year, your choice of font + cover color.

I had always admired Susie's beautiful work and knew that getting my senior pictures taken by her was a given. No surprise here, but it was the best decision I could have made. In the time we were together, Susie captured my authentic smile (which is very evident in the pictures), and the two of us shared genuine laughter while walking the streets of Downtown Carlisle. When I look back on my senior pictures, I don't think about the pain and stress of senior year. These pictures represent the love I have for my town, happy afternoons spent at the Creperie, and the fond memories made throughout my high school years. Lastly, I have to accredit such a memorable shoot to Susie's sweet personality and kind soul--she can truly reach anyone and make them feel like they are beautiful and special

What is included in what I’m paying for?
Why DO I HAVE TO FILL OUT THE PLANNING GUIDE?
A 14 page style and location guide, a customized, collaborative session plan, an hour to an hour and a half long session, a minimum of 75 high resolution edited images delivered via a personalized online gallery, and up to 30 miles of travel are included in your senior session experience.
I really push for unique images that are specific to you. I don’t want senior photos to be one size fits all. I want them to tell your story and show who you are. I get to know that through our process of the style + location guide and your custom session plan so I can accurately photograph you. I truly believe the best photographs come out of knowing a person beyond the way they look and with a relationship with them
DO YOU TRAVEL FOR SESSIONS?
Yes! 30 miles of travel is included in your session, however anything beyond that will have a travel fee.
